Ludwig and Louise (Luise) (SCHAUER) KLAWITTER
The family came from Province Posen in Germany immigrating to the US
in 1893 with sons Ernest and Hermann on the ship Darmstadt.
Son Emil immigrated to America first about 1888 at the age of 17 and
worked to bring brother Albert.  Emil and Albert both worked to bring
rest of the family in 1893.  Emil lived with a KLAWITTER Family in
Mecan, Wisconsin until his marriage and the birth of his first child
Alma around 1901.  He then settled near Montello in Marquette County,
Wisconsin.  Brother Ernest Paul Klawitter married a granddaughter of
the Mecan, Wisconsin Klawitter family.  To date there has not been
found to be a direct connection between the two Klawitter families.
Ludwig and Louise are buried in the Montello Cemetery near Emil and
Bertha in the same lot as Herbert H. Klawitter.  This is where the
infant son of Ernest named Herbert E.P. is also buried.  The infant
sons of Herbert R. and Judith Klawitter. Scott and Rodney, were first
buried there too but were later moved to Cambria, Wisconsin to be
placed with their father in 1991.
